The healing power of sea water at Terme Portorož: inhalations and salt room

Slovenia has already experienced three heatwaves in the first seven months of the year, and meteorologists are forecasting at least two more by the end of the summer. From a medical point of view, a heat wave is very unpleasant and even dangerous for some groups of people. In particular, patients with chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, rheumatism, thyroid diseases and malignancies are at risk of feeling unwell and having unpredictable reactions. These guests should take extra care during heatwaves and tropical nights (when night temperatures exceed 20 degrees Celsius).
Here are some tips for risk groups and everyone in general:
wear a protective hat and sunglasses when outdoors.
choose a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30.
stay in the water for no more than 10 minutes and wear sunglasses and a protective hat.
drink enough water, avoid sugary and alcoholic drinks.
this helps to keep the skin fresh and prevent irritation.
it is recommended to swim in the morning and late afternoon.
stay in the shade between 12:00 and 15:00, when the sun's rays are at their strongest.
If you experience nausea, headache, vomiting or burns, see an emergency doctor immediately.
